About Anime Food Lab
A fan-made kitchen that turns the meals you pause the episode for into recipes you can cook on a weeknight — with real Japanese technique, not fantasy shortcuts.
What we do
Anime Food Lab publishes 19 tested recipes inspired by Naruto, Spy x Family, Studio Ghibli, Food Wars, Demon Slayer, and Dungeon Meshi. Each dish includes step-by-step instructions, a serving scaler, pantry-honest ingredients, and a note on the scene that made us hungry.
When the screenshot is a whole roast basilisk and the home plate is oven katsu, we say so. We would rather be accurate than pretty.
How we cook
Every recipe is cooked in a normal home kitchen. Times, yields, and difficulty are what actually happened on the stove — not a studio food-stylist estimate. Ingredient hubs cover the Japanese bottles worth hunting for (mirin, dashi, Kewpie); equipment guides say when a donabe, rice cooker, or bento box is required versus optional. Supermarket staples stay on the recipe list without a shop link.

Who runs it
Anime Food Lab is written, cooked, and photographed by Pierre Le Maguer in France. I am a home cook and anime fan who adapts on-screen meals with real Japanese ingredients and techniques — long simmers, rice shaping, wagashi rest times — then documents what actually worked in a normal kitchen.
