Hunter x Hunter treats food as a punchline and a trial. During the airship rest phase of the Hunter Exam, candidates hit the cafeteria for yoshoku comfort — our glazed meatballs chase that lacquered meatball plate on lettuce.

On Greed Island, food becomes a game mechanic. In Antokiba, Gon and Killua face a cat waiter's spaghetti challenge: clear a meat-and-mushroom mountain in 30 minutes to earn spell card Galgaida (No. 261) — Episode 61 of the 2011 anime.
